Digitally sprayed edges or edge print are a book manufacturing technique where specialized high-resolution inkjet printers apply precise, full-color images, gradients, or complex artwork directly onto the trimmed outer edges of a closed book block.

Clamping: The bound book is tightly clamped shut so the pages align tightly.
Surface Prep: The edge is lightly sanded to create a smooth, receptive canvas for the ink.
Direct Printing: Instead of manual airbrushing or stenciling, a digital edge printer jets precise ink droplets to paint continuous scenes, complex patterns, or photo-realistic art across the book edge.
